A) How can I get a new passport in case of lost passport ?

New Passport:

  1. Filled-in prescribed application form (Ka form) for new passport
  2. Nationality / Birth Certificate from Chairman / Commissioner
  3. Photograph - 8 (eight) copies (5 X 4 cm)
  4. The applicant should present himself before the Embassy for an interview
  5. Self addressed envelope with ¥ 580 stamp
  6. Fee (In form of postal order- Futsu Kawase Sho Sho)-¥ 14000
  7. Approximate time 3 (three) months (upon receiving the report from Dhaka). However, a Temporary Citizen Identity Certificate is issued free of charge for the interim period.

Information on No Visa Required for Travel to Bangladesh (NVR)

To make the entry/stay in Bangladesh easier to any person of Bangladeshi origin, Bangladeshi national having the citizenship of any country of the world, except SAARC countries, and their spouse(s) and child/children, foreign wives and child/children of Bangladeshi nationals- "No Visa Required for Travel to Bangladesh" seal may be stamped. Bangladesh Missions/Embassy abroad and the Department of Immigration & Passport may be stamped the seal upon fulfilling the following conditions :

    1. In case of Bangladeshi origin:
      • Valid Bangladesh Passport
      • Or
      • Bangladeshi Passport before accepting the foreign citizenship/Birth Certificate/Nationality Certificate issued by the Union Parishad/ Municipality/ City Corporation and Police Clearance Certificate (these need to be duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka).
    2. In case of spouses and children of Foreign Nationals of Bangladesh origin:
      • Valid Bangladeshi passport of Father/Mother/Husband, Bangladesh passport of Father/Mother/Husband before accepting the foreign citizenship
      • Or
      • Birth Certificate/ Nationality Certificate issued by Union Parishad/Municipality/ City Corporation and Police Clearance Certificate (these need to be duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka)
      • * Affidavit by Father/Mother/Husband in respect of spouse/ children.
    3. In case of foreign wives and children of Bangladesh citizen:
      • Valid Bangladeshi passport of Father/Mother/Husband, Bangladesh passport of Father/Mother/Husband before accepting the foreign citizenship,
      • Or
      • Birth Certificate/Nationality Certificate issued by the Union Parishad/ Municipality/ City Corporation and
      • * Marriage certificate (for wife) and
      • * Affidavit by Father/Mother/Husband in respect of spouse/ children and
      • * Police Clearance Certificate
    4. No Police Clearance Certificate will be required for Bangladeshi citizen having foreign passports of Europe, United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand for "No Visa Required for Travel to Bangladesh". But the applicant to be proved his/her Bangladeshi nationality by submitting the education certificate issued by the Government accredited Boards/University/ Bangladeshi passport/ Nationality certificate issued by the local authority.
  1. Foreign nationals of Bangladesh origin cannot use Bangladesh passport without accepting the dual citizenship.
  2. "No Visa Required for Travel to Bangladesh" stamp will remain valid as long as the passport remain valid and if the passport is cancelled the visa will also be cancelled. "No visa Required for Travel to Bangladesh" can be transferred to the new passport with certain visa fee.
