The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Tokyo, Japan, is going to observe the National Mourning Day and the 34^th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner on Saturday 15 August, 2009. The day’s programmes include:

09.00 hrs                     - Official hoisting of the National Flag at half-mast by H.E. the Ambassador at the Chancery and offering of special Munajat seeking Divine blessings for the departed souls of the Father of the Nation and his late family members as well as for the continued peace, progress and happiness of the country;

16.00 hrs                     - Discussion meeting on the life and ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his historic role in the emergence of Bangladesh as an independent nation at the Conference Hall of the Embassy. Hon'ble Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh National Parliament H.E. Col (Rtd.) Shawkat Ali will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
